Lund Street near Joncas Place
Police stopped a vehicle being driven along the highway. After speaking to the 36-year-old male driving the vehicle it was determined that he had consumed alcohol. The male provided a breath sample which registered a “warn.” He was issued with a three-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.
2. March 1
5000 block Joyce Avenue
Police received a report of a hit and run in the parking lot of Powell River General Hospital. Sometime between 7:45 and 8:40 am, a red Kia Sportage was hit while parked at that location. The vehicle had damage to the driver’s side front and rear doors which is believed to be in excess of $1,000. Police responded to a number of vandalism complaints throughout Powell River. Sometime during the previous night, two schools and two businesses were spray-painted.
