Manson Avenue

Police stopped a vehicle after receiving information that the driver may be impaired. After speaking to the driver and conducting sobriety tests, it was determined that the driver was impaired by drugs. The driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition as a result.

2. May 18

Powell Lake

Police responded to a report of theft from a cabin. Sometime between May 8 and May 18, a Broil Chef barbeque valued at $300 was stolen from the cabin. The cabin is only accessible by boat and located approximately four miles (6.5 kilometres) northwest of Powell Lake Marina. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

3. May 20

Highway 101 north

Police responded to a vehicle in the ditch approximately two kilometres from Malaspina Road. Upon arrival, the vehicle had been removed, but police were able to locate the driver at her residence. Police spoke to the driver who did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the accident.
