1. April 25 to April 27
7100 block Nootka Street
Sometime during the weekend an education facility was vandalized. An aluminum fan covering on the roof had been kicked and dented, a saw house also stored on the roof had been broken and some of the moldings around a window had been removed. To date no suspects have been identified.
2. April 30
Highway 101 north
At approximately 1 am a red 1995 Chevrolet pickup was observed travelling under the posted speed limit between Wildwood and Tla’amin (Sliammon) First Nation. The vehicle was stopped. The driver demonstrated signs of alcohol consumption and failed two subsequent breathalysers. As a result the vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver’s licence was seized for 90 days.
3. May 1
Dixon Road
In the early morning hours a 1996 Subaru Legacy that was parked on the gravel portion of the road at the Sunshine Coast Trail junction was significantly damaged. It appears that someone purposely rammed the parked vehicle pushing it 30 to 40 feet then drove up on the hood and windshield. The RCMP believes the suspect vehicle was a large possibly raised blue truck.
