1. September 26
7000 block Burnaby Street
Police received a report that a black bear had acted aggressively toward a property owner after the bear had started eating a small amount of food that was accidentally left outside the residence. This is a reminder to residents to secure items that may attract bears.
2. September 27
Cranberry Street and Manson Avenue
A Powell River RCMP officer stopped a vehicle after the driver left a local store. After speaking to the driver, the odour of liquor was detected. Two breath samples were provided which determined the driver was over the legal limit. The driver’s licence was removed for three days and the vehicle was impounded.
3. September 28
4500 block Harvie Avenue
Between approximately 10 pm and midnight two vehicles were damaged while parked along a residential street. Both vehicles had their passenger side mirrors knocked off.
