1. October 17
Between Fernwood and Bowness avenues
Two vehicles were entered and during both incidents a small amount of loose change was taken. Both vehicles had been left unlocked. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).
RCMP remind residents to always lock their vehicles when not in use and to refrain from leaving anything of value inside.
2. October 18
Thunder Bay Street
A rider on a Harley Davidson motorcycle was stopped for speeding. During the traffic stop it was determined the rider had consumed alcohol and his ability to operate a motorcycle was impaired. Also during the investigation a small amount of drugs was located along with weapons. The driver failed a breathalyzer test which resulted in his driver’s licence being suspended for 90 days and his motorcycle was impounded for 30 days. The investigation is ongoing but the rider could also be facing charges of Possession of Prohibited Weapons and Possession of a Controlled Drug or Substance.
