Duncan Street near Michigan Avenue

At approximately 11:30 pm a 19-year-old female was biking alone when she came across a highly intoxicated male who had fallen to the ground. She stopped to see if he was okay and ended up sitting with him. The male then grabbed at her and when she attempted to pull way he tried to restrain her. She was able to fight herself free and run to a local store where she called for help. Extensive patrols were made by the RCMP but the male was not located. The RCMP are looking for anyone who may have witnessed this incident and looking for the public’s help with identifying this suspect. The male is described as being first nations with medium to dark complexion, approximately five feet, eight inches tall, dark hair, wearing a blue T-shirt, army colour shorts and running shoes.

September 5 and 6

3000 block Malaspina Promenade, Savary Island

Overnight a red rippler open sea kayak was stolen from a residence. The kayak can be identified as it has the name Kengarth written on the side. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

September 6

4500 block Marine Avenue

At approximately 12:45 pm a highly intoxicated male was refused entry to a liquor establishment. The male repeatedly tried to enter the bar against the bartenders and bouncers’ requests. Due to the high level of intoxication the male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and was held in police custody until he was sober enough to care for himself.
