Drug alert issued for qathet region

Substance has caused overdose, according to Vancouver Coastal Health

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has issued a drug alert for the qathet region.

Orange pebbles sold as fentanyl in the region tested positive for para-fluorofentanyl and benzos, according to VCH, and the substance has caused overdose.

As part of the drug alert, VCH provided the following information:

No matter what or how you use (smoking, snorting, injecting) take these steps to prevent overdose.

- Check your drugs  https://www.vch.ca/en/service/drug-checking   

- Be aware of increased risk if mixing with other drugs, including alcohol

- Use with others around or at an OPS
