BC Ferries has advised public of changes to both ferry vessels in the Powell River area in order to make repairs to the Queen of Burnaby, which normally runs between Comox and Powell River.
MV Island Sky will be moved from the Earls Cove-Saltery Bay run to replace the Queen of Burnaby from the evening of October 14 through to late November.
MV Island Sky will be replaced by the Bowen Queen, which had previously run on the Southern Gulf Island, for the Earls Cove-Saltery Bay run.
The Queen of Burnaby will be taken out of water on October 15 for several days to repair a propellor hub. Once those repairs are complete, it will replace the Queen of Nanaimo on the Tsawwassen–Southern Gulf Islands route from October 19 until late November to accommodate the Queen of Nanaimo’s refit.
Regular schedules on both Powell River ferry runs will remain in effect.
