Four people arrested after altercation with Powell River RCMP

Individuals will face multiple charges in provincial court

At approximately 12:26 am on Saturday, March 25, Powell River RCMP responded to a report that someone was trying to steal a vehicle at Strikers Bar and Grill on Marine Avenue.

Upon arrival, three individuals approached police and reported that they had taken car keys from a female who had too much to drink and should not be driving. Police attempted to speak to the female who was agitated and confrontational.

As police were attempting to speak to the female, the three individuals came into close proximity to the officers and started swearing and obstructing police in the execution of their duties. The four individuals ignored all repeated police direction and became assaultive.

All four individuals were arrested for various charges including: obstructing a peace officer; causing disturbance; mischief; resisting arrest; and assaulting peace officer. All four individuals were intoxicated, were held in cells until sober and released to appear in provincial court.
