A strong high pressure system will settle over southwestern BC including the northern Sunshine Coast this weekend.
Currently, the UV index is high, meaning it is best to stay out of the direct sunshine to avoid harmful ultraviolet rays. The Weatherhood app is forecasting temperatures up to 25 degrees this afternoon, but dropping to 11 degrees overnight.
There is no precipitation in the forecast for the next few days. Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24, temperatures will hit between 28 and 29 degrees in the daytime, with clear skies. It’s the perfect time to beat the heat and duck into some cool art spaces at this year's qathet Studio Tour, taking place this weekend.
Environment Canada's hot spot today is Cultus Lake at 30 degrees and the cold spot is Port Hardy at chilly 11.9 degrees.
