Work is underway to upgrade Highway 101 north of Powell River.
The $2.5-million project includes resurfacing the highway between Pryor Road and Larson Road and widening the shoulder.
Preliminary work is underway, including clearing rock, installing culverts and moving a BC Hydro pole.
According to the ministry of transportation and infrastructure, the contract is currently being tendered on BC Bid and the resurfacing work is expected to begin in the summer.
