Hockey team introduces new family rate

Online ticket system saves time and money

Powell River Kings hope to increase public demand for its home BC Hockey League games by announcing new ticket rates and a new online ticketing system this season.

Families living in the same household will now have the option to purchase a family ticket or a family season’s pass at reduced rates.

“With the economy we found that people were finding it difficult to get their families to the games,” said Nadine Porchetta, the Kings’ marketing and community relations coordinator. “We hope with these rates more can enjoy the fun at the arena.”

According to Porchetta, family ticket prices are now $30 per game.

There is also a new $740 family season pass and a $399 family pack for 15 games.

Also, a new online ticketing system makes it easier to purchase tickets.

“From now on, fans can go to our website and buy tickets using their credit cards,” said Porchetta.

Online ticket buyers will be given the option to reserve their favourite seats and avoid lineups at the gate by printing tickets at home or downloading them to their smart phones. The new ticketing system will be in place by October 2’s home game.
