Mechanical difficulty leads to cancelled sailings between Texada and Powell River

BC Ferries is advising that two Island Discovery sailings have been cancelled due to a mechanical difficulty. The ship is experiencing a problem with the rescue boat, according to a media release from BC Ferries.

The 3 pm sailing departing Texada Island (Blubber Bay Terminal) and the 3:45 pm sailing departing Powell River (Westview Terminal) will not run.

BC Ferries stated that the corporation appreciates riders’ patience and apologizes for any inconvenience people may experience as a result of this cancellation.

“We are working to resolve the issue, and we will keep you informed as soon as more information becomes available,” the release stated. “Our goal is to inform our customers as early as possible of any changes to our scheduled sailings.
