In addition to help from family, friends, businesses, they held a hot dog sale, a fundraising dinner and auction at Coastal Cookery assisted by Townsite Brewing, sold a calendar and had a game night at Powell River Kings hockey.

Since 2011, firefighters have increased their annual goal and this year nearly tripled their total from 2013. Image 1 and The Rotary Club of Powell River combined to raise $3,500, more than $2,000 coming from six Rotary members. More came at a club meeting when the shave-off was held.
