Powell River RCMP reported the following for March 21 to 27, 2019.

Break and enter: 3
March 25; Finn Bay Road, 9900 block
At approximately 7 pm, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a residence. The investigation revealed an unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through an unlocked door sometime between 5 pm the day before and 8 am on Monday, March 25. Once inside, several items were piled up against a wall and doused in gasoline. The suspect(s) then left the house.
March 26; Joyce Avenue
At approximately 8 pm, an officer observed a vehicle driving erratically. The 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier was stopped and the driver displayed signs of impairment. A roadside test was performed. Given the test results a drug recognition demand was provided to the driver and he was brought back to the detachment for further evaluation. A urine sample was obtained and will be sent to the RCMP forensic lab for analysis. Depending on the results the driver, a 53-year-old resident of Powell River, could be facing charges of impaired driving due to drugs.
March 27; Joyce Avenue, 4000 block
At approximately 2 pm, police were called to a business due to a disturbance. The investigation revealed a female suspect entered the store and, after having a brief conversation with the store employee, threw several items at the employee and then departed. When police located the suspect she was intoxicated and uncooperative. She was placed under arrest and struck the officer before being placed in the police car. The 23 year old from Powell River is now facing charges of assault and assaulting a police officer.
