Powell River RCMP reported the following for March 12 to 18, 2020.

Total calls for service: 94

Thefts: 3

Assaults: 4

Impaired driving: 2

Mischief: 4

Break and enter: 1

 

March 17Savary Island

At approximately 4:15 pm police received a complaint of a missing person. Harry Capra, age 36, has not been seen since January 24, 2020. Capra is described as a Caucasian male, six feet tall and weighing approximately 155 pounds. He has short brown hair and blue eyes. Capra has been known to kayak from Savary over to Lund. The blue and white kayak he normally uses is currently missing. Capra also goes by the name Andrew Harrington.

At approximately 12:30 pm police attended the École Côte-du-Soleil to a report of arson. The investigating officer attended the scene and observed a rope ladder attached to a play structure that had a metre-wide hole burned into it and leftover burned paper was present.
