At approximately 9:23 pm, police were making patrols near Brooks Secondary School when a vehicle was observed travelling southbound at a high rate of speed. November 6; Highway 101, south
At approximately 12:55 am, police received a request for assistance from BC Ambulance Service at the scene of a single vehicle collision on Highway 101 at Pine Tree Road. Police attended and spoke to the driver, a 25-year-old female from Powell River. The driver advised she swerved to miss a deer and got stuck in a ditch. She did not sustain any injuries as a result of the collision. While speaking to the driver, police detected an odour of liquor. She admitted to consuming liquor earlier in the night and a breath sample was obtained.
