July 16; Cranberry Street
At approximately 3:24 am, police were making patrols on Cranberry Street near Poplar Street in Townsite. A vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed. It was stopped and police spoke to the driver, a 19-year-old male from Powell River. While speaking to the driver, police detected an odour of liquor. The driver provided breath samples, which registered as a fail on the approved screening device. As a result, the vehicle was impounded for 30 days and a 90-day driving prohibition was issued under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
