On March 19, 2021, at approximately 1:14 pm, police responded to a report of a vehicle parked in a “no parking” area and the driver was passed out behind the wheel. Police attended and identified the male in the driver’s seat as Aron Ferguson.

Police spoke to the driver, who showed signs of impairment by drugs and a standardized field sobriety test was completed. As a result, Ferguson was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle were forwarded to crown counsel.

On June 16, 2022, Ferguson entered a guilty plea and was issued a fine under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving without due care and attention ($500) and a 6-month driving prohibition. At the same time, he pled guilty to driving while prohibited (in relation to another incident) and received a $500 fine for driving without a licence, and another 6-month driving prohibition.
