Powell River RCMP reported the following for October 27 to November 2, 2022.

Total calls for service: 116
Thefts: 5
Break and enter: 0
Impaired driving: 3
Assaults: 1
Mischief: 7
Mental health: 9

October 29; Complex Way
At approximately 11:23 am, police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver leaving the parking lot of qathet General Hospital. RCMP attended and located the vehicle parked on Complex Way. Police spoke to the driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old male, who showed signs of impairment by drugs. The driver of the vehicle was taken back to the detachment where a drug recognition exam was completed. Based on the results of the exam, the driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and may be facing charges of impaired driving in the future.

October 28; Marine Avenue
At approximately 9:22 am, police responded to a mischief complaint at Willingdon Beach Campsite. Sometime during the night of October 27, someone climbed onto an electrical box near site #55 and bent the tower down, damaging the WiFi booster. A sign was then ripped down and thrown onto the beachfront, and an extension cord used for the pop machine was stolen.   

October 31; Alberni Street
At approximately 9:18 am, police responded to a theft complaint at Town Centre Mall. At some point on late Saturday (October 29) night or early Sunday (October 30) morning, someone entered the mall and stole one of the couches that was in the mall near The Brick. The couch is valued at approximately $1,700.
