Officers reported the following for February 23 to March 2, 2023.

Total calls for service: 100

Thefts: 3

Break and enter: 5

Impaired driving:  4

Assaults: 3

February 23; Marine Avenue at Courtenay Street

At approximately 10:10 pm, police observed an uninsured vehicle drive by. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the 25-year-old male driving the vehicle. While speaking to the driver, police detected an odour of liquor coming from him. A breath sample was obtained, which registered a fail on the approved screening device. The driver was advised of his right to a second test, and chose to provide a second sample. This also registered a fail on the approved screening device.  As a result, the vehicle was impounded for 30 days and the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition under the Motor Vehicle Act.  A violation ticket was also issued for driving with no insurance.

February 25; Manson Avenue, 4800 block

At approximately 5:03 pm, police responded to a report of a break and enter. Sometime within the previous four days, someone had smashed the rear window of a shed on the property and stolen four 40-pound propane tanks. The value of the stolen property is estimated to be in excess of $400.
