October 23; Alberni Street
At approximately 7:22 pm, Powell River RCMP officers were conducting patrols and observed a male inside a vehicle at El’s Auto Tec on Alberni Street. Police were aware that the shop was closed for the evening and after investigation, discovered that the male had no reason to be in the vehicle. The 59-year-old male was arrested for mischief and trespassing at night and released to appear in provincial court.

October 19; Padgett Road
At approximately 3:32 pm, RCMP received a request from Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) for assistance with a vehicle that had failed to stop. CVSE had attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a truck that was towing a trailer which did not have working lights and the truck accelerated away down Padgett Road. Powell River RCMP and CVSE located the vehicle in the area and after investigation, discovered the trailer had the wrong licence plate affixed to the front. The licence plate was seized and the registered owner of the vehicle was issued tickets for failing to stop for police and misuse of a licence plate contrary to the Motor Vehicle Act.

October 19; Lund Street
At approximately 9:09 am, RCMP received a report that there was a motorhome parked, blocking the garage doors at Top of the Hill Store. Staff noted that the motorhome was plugged into the store’s electricity and attempted to speak to the owner but received no answer when they knocked on the door. Police attended and reviewed the store’s video surveillance and observed the vehicle and driver arrive at the store. After investigation, police discovered that the driver of the motorhome did not have a valid driver’s licence. The 45-year-old female driver was issued a ticket for driving with no licence contrary to the Motor Vehicle Act. The motorhome was towed from the property.
