Police Patrol: Powell River RCMP search for sign-smashing vehicle

At approximately 1:26 am on August 20, police responded to a mischief complaint. A vehicle described as a blue truck without a canopy was driving around on Maple Avenue and Elm Street in Townsite, smashing into street signs and driving on the sidewalk.

Police immediately attended and made extensive patrols in the area, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Police determined that 12 street signs and a grassy area at Brooks Secondary School were damaged. The damage is believed to be well in excess of $5,000.

Police are looking for a blue truck without a canopy that would have extensive damage to the front end.
