Powell River Board of Education has approved remuneration for School District 47 trustees to be increased by four per cent for the 2023 calendar year. Trustees voted for the increase at the December 21 board of education meeting.
Secretary-treasurer Steve Hopkins said policy provides for a review each year and staff brings a recommendation based on findings from other groups in the district’s sector, as well as comparative organizations such as school boards.
“That four per cent is roughly representative of the pool,” added Hopkins.
