At approximately 1:31 pm on June 18, police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the 4700 block of Marine Avenue. Police attended and attempted to locate the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.

A short time later, the vehicle was located in the 4700 block of Joyce Avenue. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, a 51-year-old male from Powell River. The male showed signs of impairment by drugs, and a standardized field sobriety test was completed. As a result, the driver was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded.
 

June 22, at approximately 8:15 a.m., a member of the public attended the Powell River Detachment to turn in a motorcycle helmet and goggles that were found at Larry Gouthro Park. The items had been there for a few days. If you are missing these, please contact the Powell River detachment with a description to claim them.
