Powell River RCMP seek driver who struck pedestrian

Incident occurred on Joyce Avenue near Lytton Street in the afternoon of April 25

On Wednesday, April 26, Powell River RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision that occurred at 2:55 pm, Tuesday, April 25, on Joyce Avenue at Lytton Street. A burgundy, newer model Toyota SUV struck a pedestrian while he crossed Lytton.

The driver of the SUV, described as a female in her 20s or 30s with straight blonde hair and sunglasses, stopped to check and confirm if the pedestrian was okay, and then left without providing any contact information. The pedestrian did not receive any serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Police are looking to speak to the driver of the SUV, or to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have dash cam footage from the area at the time the incident took place.
