Powell River RCMP seek information about bear-spraying incident

Verbal argument among youths one of 110 calls for service responded to by police from September 1 to 7

An individual was bear-sprayed at Lindsay Park in Cranberry on September 6.

Powell River RCMP reported the following for September 1 to 7, 2022.

Total calls for service: 110
Thefts: 10
Break and enter: 0
Impaired driving: 2
Assaults: 4
Mischief: 5
Mental health: 5

At approximately 6 pm on Tuesday, September 6, Powell River RCMP were called to Lindsay Park for an individual who had been bear sprayed. The investigation determined that the victim had been in a verbal argument with several youths when one of them took out a can of bear spray and sprayed the victim. They then fled the scene in what were described as a white convertible and a black Volkswagen.
