qathet Regional District (qRD) directors have endorsed a new policy regarding photographs of regional board members taken around municipal elections.

At the December 6 regional board meeting, directors considered a staff report which indicated that historically, qRD has taken board photographs at the end of each four-year term and individual photos at the beginning of each director’s term. In past, individual and group photographs have been prepared and furnished to the directors and senior staff.

Directors voted to streamline the photography process, with the recommendation to amend the policy so the group photograph is taken at the beginning of each term, along with the individual photos of directors, and following a byelection should one occur.

The staff report stated this change will ensure that qRD has accurately captured those who serve as public officials and staff, as well as ensuring there are photos to share with media.

qRD directors carried a motion for the new policy, with Electoral Area B director Mark Gisborne opposed.
