qRD directors have no objection to Mines Act permit on Texada

qathet Regional District directors will advise the provincial ministry of energy, mines and low carbon innovation qRD has no objection to the application for a Mines Act permit – mineral exploration application, submitted by Zyrox Mining Company on Spectacle Lake Road on Texada Island.

Regional district approval has the subject that the applicant perform ongoing restoration and rehabilitation of the land, as opposed to such action at the time of project completion.

According to a staff report, the application plans to use a small, track-mounted diamond rig, largely using preexisting deactivated forestry trails to access drill locations. No timber is proposed to be cut. The total proposed disturbance area is 1.1 hectares.
