At the August 23 qathet Regional District (qRD) board meeting, directors decided that a letter of support will be provided to Powell River Salmon Society for a grant application to BC Gaming.
The salmon society is hoping to receive funding for its educational coordinator position, which was funded for one year through the BC job creation program.
The salmon society’s goal is to make this position permanent.
At the August 2 qRD committee of the whole meeting, directors reviewed correspondence from the salmon society.
