Under budget

Organizers of the Powell River General Hospital Foundation’s Pass the Hat for the Cat Scan campaign have received the final statement for construction and installation of the equipment. Dave Harper, chair of the campaign, reported that the project was completed under budget by about $150,000. “This means we did not need to obtain money offered by the Powell River Regional Hospital District, if it was required,” he said. “Powell Riverites can be proud of their accomplishment.”

Patrick Brabazon, Area A director and chair of the Powell River Regional District committee-of-the-whole meeting, said at the April 28 board meeting that the foundation’s letter was “most welcome. They reported they didn’t need the $200,000, which we had assured them we would supply for the CAT scan.” The committee agreed to send a letter congratulating the foundation on its successful fundraising.
