Upgrades to Van Anda’s waterworks system on Texada Island are expected to start in spring.
Powell River Regional District announced on March 9 that a grant from the Federal Gas Tax Fund was approved. The project is eligible for up to $865,000 in funding and upgrades.
Modernization of the system will directly impact 250 ratepayers, businesses, and the local school and fire service. The upgrades will also bring the water filtration system into compliance and end boil-water advisories.
