BC’s government has announced the community organizations in Powell River that will receive funds from an additional $15 million in gaming revenues.

Some of the groups include: Powell River Academy of Music, $15,000; Townsite Heritage Society, $10,000; Powell River Historical Museum and Archives Association, $10,000; the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 164, $8,200; and the Lions Club, $7,500.

A total of 17 Powell River groups received $64,240.


Strategy session

City of Powell River officials have set a date for a strategic planning session. They have set aside all day Friday, June 10 for the event, which will include elected officials and top management. However, the public, including the media, is excluded. The session will be closed.
