Ferries expects heavy traffic

BC Ferries has issued a service notice about a large group of touring recreational vehicles that will be boarding the Queen of Burnaby this week.

The corporation is advising Powell River residents to expect heavy traffic on the 8:10 am sailing from Westview to Comox on Thursday, August 30.

The service notice notes that a “very large group of touring recreational vehicles will be travelling from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver Island on this sailing.”

The vehicles are from Texas. The group makes an annual trip to BC.

The corporation is encouraging customers to plan their travel by arriving early or choosing an alternate sailing to avoid possible overloads.

Reservations and traffic conditions are available by calling BC Ferries toll free at 1.888.223.3779 or on its website.
