Airplane Park on Hernando Avenue is once again open following closure by the City of Powell River to deal with a mechanical malfunction that resulted in an overflow of liquid waste. Sprinklers were brought in to help dilute the waste and germicide to clean the field. By Wednesday, July 27, the city deemed the field fit to reopen, according to Bill Reid, director of parks, recreation and culture.
