Drug bust
Stephan Wayne Bidiuk, 25, from Texada Island and a 32-year-old unidentified female were arrested on Wednesday, February 2 after Powell River RCMP found hashish, cocaine and heroin in a vehicle on Ontario Avenue.
Bidiuk remains in custody and is facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of recognizance. He is due to appear in court on February 9. Bidiuk was already out on bail from an earlier trafficking charge.
Charges for the female are pending and she has been released from custody.
Successful search
A model depicted in a sketch drawn in the mid-1960s has been identified.
Lois Dunn, who is now Lois Cummings, is the model. Editorial cartoonist Graham Harrop will present the drawing to her in the next few weeks.
