The rain is back, which is a good thing for gardens and a nice reprieve from the heat the qathet region has been experiencing over the last week.
The Weatherhood app indicates rain in the forecast for the next few days. Today, Tuesday, July 8, there will be rain showers throughout the day, a high temperature of 16 degrees at noon and winds of over 15 kilometres an hour gusting near the water.
Wednesday, July 9, there will be a mix of sun, cloud and a 30 per cent chance of rain throughout the day, and a temperature high of 19 degrees at 6 pm. Thursday, July 10, will be mostly cloudy with rain showers, but the clouds will clear in the evening, and by 6 pm the temperature will be 21 degrees with sun.
For Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the sun is forecast to be back, with zero chance of rain in the forecast. For all three days the daytime temperature will hover above 20 degrees.
Powell River Logger Sports weekend starts on Saturday, July 12, at the Loggers Memorial Bowl at Willingdon Beach. The carving competition starts tomorrow, Wednesday, July 9, at the upper Willingdon Beach walkway.
Centralized Farmers' Market organizers said in a message on social media that they will temporarily relocate the market on Saturday, to the FreshCo parking lot on Joyce Avenue, due to the carving competition taking place.
