This past week, the qathet region has seen a mix of cloud, rain and wind, but, when the sun has made an appearance during the day, the heat has felt like summer temperatures are here already.
Today, Friday, May 30, Weatherhood indicates cloud cover for most of the day, with a 28 per cent chance of rain in the forecast, and an afternoon temperature of 18 degrees, dropping to 10 degrees overnight. There is a 67 per cent chance of rain on Saturday, May 31, and cloud for most of the day.
Sunday, June 1, the sun will be back, with some clouds, and a daytime temperature forecast to be 17 degrees. Monday, June 2, there will be a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 18 degrees and no chance of precipitation.
The qathet region has many options for lunch and brunch on Sundays, but did you know Powell River Farmers' Market (PRFM) has cuisines from around the world on offer from a variety of vendors?
Viva México Cafe offers tamales, fresh handmade tortillas and soup for lunch, and Cafe Brasil has coxinhas and risoles, which are a type of popular street food in Brazil.
Korean fusion food can be found at Sunny Kitchen. They also have homemade vegan and non-vegan kimchi to take away. Hand-made nettle spanikopita can be found at Aggie's Falafel and of course she also makes fresh falafel wraps. Next, is Family food Pierogi and Pelmeni, Ukrainian dumplings prepared frozen to eat.
"Thanks for coming out and supporting the local entrepreneurs and economy; it is amazing to see this many vendors and customers so early in our outdoor season," stated the PRFM team on social media. "We hope to continue to see you all through the summer. See you for lunch from 12:30 to 2:30 pm on Sunday."
