Coming to Powell River is just like coming home for Kathleen Thompson. She was born in Sechelt and spent a bit of her childhood in Powell River.
Thompson also lived in Alberta, attending college in Lethbridge to obtain her journalism diploma. It was there she met her fiance, a musician who she is marrying this summer.
In her spare time Thompson is an author. She has released two books: a dark fantasy called Spellbound by Fire and a poetry book called She Wasn’t Allowed to Giggle.
Thompson has been writing for most of her life and considers it her biggest passion. She is excited to be back on the coast and working at the Peak. She looks forward to getting involved with the community and telling the stories that matter most to the people of Powell River.
