It appears someone from Burnaby, or who bought a lottery ticket while in the city, will soon realize they recently earned a big payday.
A local winning ticket worth a total of $101,454.10 was revealed from Lotto 6/49's draw on April 27, 2024.
The ticket matched at least five of the seven drawn numbers:
- 03, 06, 18, 26, 36, 42 and 17 (bonus)
It's not known, as of this publication, May 7, if someone has come forward or has claimed the six-figure prize.
The Burnaby winner's total is also half of a bigger jackpot as someone in western Canada — either in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba — also correctly matched at least five numbers.
"All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize," the BC Lottery Corporation has previously stated.
"The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners' name(s) will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize."
The Lotto 6/49 classic jackpot from the April 27 draw was $5 million, but no one took home the top prize as well as the $38-million Gold Ball jackpot.
