The Weatherhood forecast in the qathet region for Thursday, July 31, until Monday, August 4, is for sun, some clouds and temperatures hitting the mid-twenties each day.

There is no precipitation indicated for the upcoming BC Day long weekend, but by Tuesday, August 5, temperatures will cool to below 20 degrees with a 50 per cent chance of showers.

Today will be the hottest day, at 27 degrees by 6 pm, but cooling to 15 degrees by the next morning. By the water there will be a steady 10-kilometre breeze for the next few days.

qathet Art and Wares, located at 4488 Marine Avenue, is celebrating four years of being open on Saturday, August 9.

In an online message to the community, owners Karen and Evelyn stated: "Can you believe it’s been four years already? It’s our fourth birthday, so we’re throwing a party and you are invited. We’ve got a day full of fun planned, including free cupcakes, made with love by our pals at @theknottypretzelbakeddelights.

"Make Your Own Button station, swing by the store before the party to pick up a button template, design it your way and bring it back to press your own custom button at the event."

Texada Blues and Roots Festival is coming up on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, at the Gillies Bay ball park.
