On March 4, from 1 to 3 am, the Wildwood bridge, located on Highway 101 over Powell Lake, will be closed for repair work.

According to correspondence from Alex Wilkinson, quality manager for the Wildwood bridge repairs for Luxton Construction Inc, emergency services in the area have been consulted and accommodation plans are in place in the event of an emergency.

The two-lane Wildwood Bridge was built in 1966 to replace the single-lane crossing between Wildwood and Townsite.

Seismic upgrades on the bridge started last fall, with work expected to extend into summer of 2022.
