BC Ferries has cancelled sailings of the North Island Princess from Texada Island due to adverse weather conditions.
According to a BC Ferries travel advisory this morning, the 11:25 am sailing departing Texada (Blubber Bay) on Friday, January 3, and the 12:15 pm sailing departing Powell River (Westview) were cancelled.
A second advisory later in the day stated that the 3 pm and 5:05 pm departures from Texada and return trips from Powell River (3:45 and 6 pm) have also been cancelled.
A third advisory announced the cancellation of the 6:50 pm ferry from Texada and 7:40 pm trip from Powell River.
The advisory states that safety of BC Ferries passengers and crew is of primary importance.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of these cancellations.”
All round-trip sailings of the Salish Eagle between Comox and Powell River were also cancelled day due to high winds.
