More Metro Vancouver businesses have been added to the list of COVID-19-related workplace closures in Fraser Health.

The latest is a White Spot restaurant on Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge, which was closed as of May 10.

The office and manufacturing facility of clothing giant Arc’teryx in the Queensborough (425 Boyne St.) of New Westminster were added to the list on Monday, May 10, although the site notes that the company's distribution centre remains unaffected.

Also on the list is Taverna Greka, the popular Columbia Street restaurant. The restaurant, which has been open for takeout and delivery, announced the closure on its Facebook page on May 5.

On Sunday, May 9, it followed up with a message to its customers: "Thank you for all the messages and well wishes sent our way. We just wanted to let you know that we are all doing OK. For the health and safety of our staff, customers and community, we will remain closed until Wednesday, May 19, 2021. We hope everybody stays safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!"

Also on the Fraser Health list are Deltech Consultants in Surrey, Sunrise Poultry in Surrey and Frankfurt Doner Kebab in Delta. Another new listing is Van Noort Bulb Company in Abbotsford.

The closures are part of new provincial regulations announced April 8. Under the regulations, when three or more people in the same workplace have COVID-19, with "likely transmission" occurring in the workplace, that workplace will be ordered to shut down. Closures will usually be for 10 days, or as determined by the medical health officer, in order to prevent further transmission and to update and approve the worksite's COVID-19 safety plans.

Workplaces ordered to close are listed on Fraser Health's workplace closures site, and listings are removed when businesses are cleared to reopen.
