In an update at 10:03 pm on Monday,August 7, BC Wildfire Service reported that a 0.55 hectare fire in the qathet region at Granite Main was being held, meaning it is not likely to spread beyond predetermined boundaries under current conditions.
Just over 11 hours earlier, at 10:49 am on August 7, the fire was reported as being out of control.
BC Wildfire Service indicated that the fire was discovered on Sunday, August 6, at 10:53 pm, and was human caused.
