It’s with sorrow that we mourn the loss of our mother, grandma and wife, Tina Skeet (née Jackson), who passed away after a long period of illness, in peace and with family by her side.

Tina is survived by her adoring husband, John, her son Terry and his partner Michelle. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Fred and Dave, sister Diane. She is also survived by her brothers Pat (Nancy) and Micheal (Rosie). She was grandma to Rachel and step-grandma to Tristan and Hayden.

Tina was born in Vancouver, BC, but soon emigrated to South Wales. At the age of 17, Tina returned to Canada and lived in British Columbia ever since. After her first marriage, spending her 20s in the Vancouver area and having her son, she moved to Prince George. There, she met the love of her life, John Skeet, and they married in 1989.

In 1995, they embarked on a great adventure and moved to Smithers, where they started their business and ran the 10 to 10 discount store for a number of years. After retiring, they relocated to Powell River to be closer to their son and family, when she became a grandma in 2013.

Although Tina’s life was challenging at times, she kept her wit and smiles until the very end. Her home-care workers often shared laughs with her, and everyone who knew her will recall her sense of humour and good nature. She loved her animal companions through the years and also had so much fun with her “star” Rachel.

Thank you to the Home Support workers who helped her greatly in the last few years, the staff at Evergreen Extended Care, and volunteers from Four Tides Hospice Society. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to BC SPCA.
