It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Caryl on Monday, August 7. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Diewert and partner Ron Lloyd.

Caryl leaves behind her daughter Tina Emery, stepchildren Ken Diewert and Heather Diewert, grandchildren Zach, Sian and Christopher, and best friend Bonnie Formby, as well as multitudes of friends and “adopted” families, most notably the Lloyds, McNairs and Pelleys.

Caryl was born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, before moving to Sherbrooke, Quebec. She eventually made her way across Canada, before settling in Powell River, which she considered “home.”

Caryl would want to be remembered for her joy of life, humour, generous spirit, strength and energy, and was known to those close to her as “The Energizer Bunny.” She loved her home, decorating, food, Ted’s boxes of chocolates, travelling, fishing and gardening.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 15, from 1 to 3 pm at Myrtle Point Golf Club. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the cancer society would be appreciated, but not expected, to continue the research toward finding a cure.
