A smile that lit up a room; a laugh that turned heads.

Rule to live by: Where there is love, nothing is too much trouble, there is always time.

Marilyn's life journey reflected her motto. She pioneered integrated, parent participation preschools for children with special needs. Attaining her BA, she became an infant development consultant. She completed her MA while working as a child and youth mental health clinician at Powell River Child and Youth Family Services Society. After retirement she continued to work as a provincial trainer with the FRIENDS program, designed to help teachers reduce anxiety and build resilience in children.

Spiritually, Marilyn was a Baha'i, believing the message of “One people, one planet,” and actively strived to promote the message of world equality and equity.

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1994. She is survived by siblings Vicki, Gary (Carol Anne) and Linda (Christian). Memories of Marilyn, her eternal love and support are forever in the hearts of her children Wayne and Maureen (Bryan), her grandchildren Rebecca, Keenan (Andisha), Jett, Matthew and Nathan, and her nephews and nieces Paul, Giulius, Topher (Claire), Morrigan, Kimberly and Dayna (Thomas) and their children Marley and Ramona.

Marilyn's beautiful spirit, reframing and caring nature will be forever missed by her many friends she supported and was supported by. She was loved.

“Soar my beloved sister, until we meet again.”
