Sadly, we announce that Ram Jagat passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Glacier View Lodge in the Comox Valley.
Ram was born in the Fiji Islands in 1934 and had a rewarding occupation as a customs agricultural officer at Nadi Airport. In 1970, he and his family immigrated to Powell River, BC, where, until retirement, he worked as a laboratory technician at the MacMillan Bloedel paper mill.
Ram was predeceased by his loving wife Dulari. After her passing in 2022, Ram lived with his elder son in Comox, BC. He is survived by his sons Abhinesh (Leslie) and Rohtesh (Carolyn), grandsons Eric and Sean, and great-grandson Austin.
Ram and Dulari were known for their deep friendship and endless support within an extensive circle of friends and family. In retirement, both enjoyed numerous cruises throughout the world and when at home, their botanical efforts were rewarded with gardens of beautiful flowers, plentiful vegetables and delicious fruits.
We invite family and friends to gather at Elk Falls Cemetery, 7852 Gold River Highway, Campbell River, BC, V9H 1P1 at 1 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Alternatively, the ceremony can be viewed online at youtube.com/live/HelvezwOo-Y.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
