In loving memory of Susan Margaret Gaudet (Hughes)

Born on March 18, 1954, in Darlington County Durham, Susan brought joy and warmth into the lives of those around her. She was a beloved, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her loved ones.

Susan’s journey was shaped by the love and support of her family. Her life took a beautiful turn when she met her loving husband, Simon. Their union was filled with love, laughter and companionship, creating a strong foundation for their family. Together, they raised two wonderful sons Adam (Murray) and Sean (Amie), who were the source of immense pride and joy in Susan’s life.

As a devoted mother, Susan poured her heart and soul into nurturing all members of her immediate family. She embraced her daughter-in-law Amie, and her grandchildren Anika and Jacob, all held a special place in her heart. Susan was ever thankful for Murray coming into Adam’s life, caring and loving Adam unconditionally.

Susan enjoyed her time volunteering with the Powell River chapter of the Beta Phi Master Chapter.

She will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit, her infectious laughter and her ability to find beauty in the simplest moments of life.

Special thanks to the following physicians, Dr. Van Zyl, Dr. Naylor and Dr. Musini. The family extends its gratitude to all the medical staff, especially the staff at ICU, who supported Susan and all of us.

“Rest in peace, dear Susan, mom and loving wife, knowing that you will forever be cherished and held close in our hearts.”
